Arcofire supplies the full range of valves required for automatic sprinkler installations, from the world's leading manufacturers, tested and approved to EN 12259-2 (wet alarm valves), EN 12259-3 (dry alarm valves) and EN 12259-4/5 (pre-action and deluge systems).
Alarm Valves • Wet alarm (alarm check) valve - a one-way valve that admits water into the sprinkler pipework and triggers a local and remote alarm when water flows, used on wet pipe systems • Dry pipe valve - holds back water with compressed air, for pipework in unheated areas at risk of freezing; opens when a sprinkler activates and air pressure drops • Pre-action valve - electrically supervised, requiring both a fire detection signal and sprinkler activation before water is admitted, for areas where accidental discharge must be avoided • Deluge valve - normally closed, opened by a separate detection system to discharge water through open (non-thermal) sprinklers or nozzles simultaneously across the whole system
Each alarm valve station ("trim") includes the valve body, retard chamber, pressure gauges upstream and downstream, a water motor gong or electric alarm bell, a pressure switch for remote signalling, and test and drain connections for periodic system testing as required by EN 12845.
Isolation Valves OS&Y (outside screw and yoke) gate valves and butterfly valves isolate sections of the system for maintenance. Every isolation valve controlling a sprinkler supply is fitted with a tamper (supervisory) switch, wired to the fire alarm panel, which raises a signal if the valve is not in the fully open position - a mandatory safeguard against an accidentally or maliciously closed valve leaving part of a building unprotected.
Zone control valve assemblies combine an isolation valve, non-return valve, flow switch and test/drain connection for a single floor or fire compartment, allowing each zone to be isolated and tested independently.
