Docks and ports are essential to the movement and distribution of goods worldwide. From loading shovels to reach stackers, a wide variety of high-value machinery is used across this sector. In the event of a fire, this costly equipment can cause significant disruption to maritime operations - posing a serious risk to safety, the environment, and site production, with considerable costs of repairing fire damage.

APPLICATIONS AND RISK AREAS: • Engine compartment - various high-risk components • Transmission systems - critical importance to the machine • Electrical systems - can spread fire quickly • Battery enclosures - critical importance to the machine • Hydraulic manifold - flammable hydraulic fluids

HOW THE REACTON SYSTEM WORKS: With Reacton's 'Safety First' approach, a fully developed and warranted single or dual-agent system is designed to detect and suppress port equipment fires quickly. The system uses a unique pneumatic detection tube that, once compromised by fire, triggers the rapid deployment of an effective knock-down powder, and in a dual-agent configuration also delivers a wet chemical that cools the surface to prevent re-ignition.

ADVANTAGES OF A REACTON SYSTEM: • Fully automatic - detects and activates without any external power source • Rapid detection and immediate agent delivery, typically in under 10 seconds • 24/7 protection with zero false alarms • Extremely low maintenance • 10-year service life, 3-year warranty on all parts • Compact and lightweight, simple to install • Suitable for both new-build (OEM) and retrofit installations

APPROVALS: • AS 5062:2016 - protection of mobile and transportable equipment, held for both the single dry powder agent and the Reacton F3 fluorine-free foam dual agent • UL Listed - detection tube as a Heat-Automatic Fire Detector component (S36434) • LPCB/LPS 1666 listed components
