Agricultural equipment operates for long periods in demanding conditions to help keep the farming industry productive. With minimal downtime and often limited maintenance, the risk of a fire breaking out cannot be ignored, and even the smallest fire can spread quickly. In agricultural settings a machine fire can also spread to the surrounding area, which is particularly dangerous around dry crops in high-heat conditions.
APPLICATIONS AND RISK AREAS: • Engine compartments - various high-risk components • Drive systems - will spread the fire quickly • Electrical systems - threat of spreading fire to surrounding components • Battery enclosures - increases the severity of the fire • Hydraulic manifolds - increases severity due to flammable hydraulic fluid
HOW THE REACTON SYSTEM WORKS: Reacton's dual-agent system uses a unique pneumatic detection tube installed throughout the risk area. Once the tube is compromised by heat from a fire, it triggers the rapid deployment of an effective 'knock-down' dry powder, and, in the dual-agent configuration, delivers a wet chemical agent that cools the surface to prevent re-ignition. The system requires no external power to detect or activate and is fully automatic around the clock.
ADVANTAGES OF A REACTON SYSTEM: • Fully automatic - detects and activates without any external power source • Rapid detection and immediate agent delivery, typically in under 10 seconds • 24/7 protection with zero false alarms • Extremely low maintenance • 10-year service life, 3-year warranty on all parts • Compact and lightweight, simple to install • Suitable for both new-build (OEM) and retrofit installations
APPROVALS: • AS 5062:2016 - protection of mobile and transportable equipment (construction, plant, mining and agricultural machinery), held for both the single dry powder agent and the Reacton F3 fluorine-free foam dual agent • UL Listed - Reacton's detection tube as a Heat-Automatic Fire Detector component • P-Mark to SPCR 199 - fire suppression systems in engine compartments of heavy vehicles
